What to know
- Several massive wildfires are currently burning largely uncontained across Los Angeles county in California.
- These fires have covered tens of thousands of acres and have the potential to destroy thousands of structures.

Evacuation Resources
Airbnb
Airbnb, in collaboration with 211 LA, is offering free temporary housing for residents displaced or forced to evacuate due to the devastating wildfires in Los Angeles County.
To qualify for the temporary housing, residents must:
- Have been displaced from your physical home due to the recent fires
- Currently reside in an evacuation zone
- Have an active Airbnb account or be able to create one
- Be 18 years old or older.

The Big Blue Bus has also been offering free hourly transportation to the Westwood Recreation Center. The pickup location is Lincoln Boulevard and Montana Avenue in Santa Monica.

Planet Fitness
The fitness chain is providing people free access to locker rooms, showers, HydroMassage loungers, electrical outlets and Wi-Fi. The offer is valid until Jan. 15 at Planet Fitness locations across Los Angeles County that haven’t been impacted by the wildfires.

Aid resources for Los Angeles County Entertainment Community Members
MusiCares
The Recording Academy’s philanthropic arm MusiCares is offering financial assistance. If you would like to request support from MusiCares, please reach out to musicaresrelief@musicares.org.” MusiCares announced Thursday (Jan. 9) that it had launched a Los Angeles Fire Relief Effort to support music professionals impacted by the crisis. The organizations kicked off the fund with a joint $1 million donation.
Entertainment Community Fund
Emergency financial assistance from the Entertainment Community Fund is open to “eligible performing arts and entertainment professionals” who are “in times of unexpected critical need.” It can help with “basic living expenses” including health care and housing. On its website, the fund notes that applicants impacted by the L.A. wildfires will be asked “to upload a list of documents. If you do not have access to these documents, upload a blank file. Once we receive the application, we will work with you to complete the application.” You can apply for relief here.
Mental health non-profit Backline is sharing resources for musicians in Los Angeles via social media and offering its own services. Disaster Distress Hotline for free 24/7 support by calling 1-800-985-5990.”
Sweet Relief Musicians Fund
Sweet Relief Musicians Fund, the non-profit helping musicians and music industry workers in need, has launched a natural disaster relief fund for those in Los Angeles County and the surrounding areas. Applications are also open for those seeking relief, with funds raised going toward loss of music-related equipment, medical bills related to the fires and other vital living expenses.

Organizations Accepting Donations for those Affected
- Baby2Baby is accepting donations to support children impacted by the wildfires.
- GoFundMe has compiled a list of verified fundraisers for people impacted by the ongoing wildfires.
- SPCALA’s Disaster Animal Response Team is seeking donations to support emergency services, such as temporary animal shelters and front-line veterinary care.
- The Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation is accepting donations to support firefighters on the front lines. The foundation is seeking monetary donations, wildland brush tools, hydration backpacks and emergency fire shelters.
- The California Fire Foundation is looking for donations to support surviving families of fallen firefighters, firefighters and the communities they serve.
- World Central Kitchen, spearheaded by chef José Andrés, has a relief team in Southern California to assist first responders and families. The organization is accepting donations to support the ongoing relief effort.
- The Los Angeles Regional Food Bank is accepting donations and looking for volunteers.
- Direct Relief is also accepting donations to support those impacted by the wildfires.
- Community Organized Relief Effort, or CORE, is accepting donations to support wildfire victims.
- Pasadena Humane Society is looking for animal supplies, including food, water bowls, extra-large crates, and blankets. Anyone able to donate these items can drop them off at the donation bin in the shelter’s front parking lot.
- Project Angel Food is seeking volunteers to help deliver and make meals for wildfire victims.
